New academic and theoretical contributions of the PhD thesis:

1. The thesis has been the first comprehensive doctoral research in Vietnam on the activities of crime prevention of the local police force. Using the surveying area is Hanoi - the Capital of the country, the thesis points out the characteristics of the subject, methods, struggling objects in the activities of crime prevention of the local police force within the Public Security Department of Hanoi Capital.

2. The thesis builds a full-theoretical system of crime prevention activities under the functions, duties and powers of the local police force.

3. On the basis of operational real situation on crime prevention of the local police force of the Public Security Department of Hanoi Capital, the thesis appreciates the strengths, weaknesses; determines the achieved results, the shortcomings and the causes of these exist problems relating to this activity.

4. The thesis builds the solutions to improve the operational efficiency of the crime prevention of the local police force within the Public Security Department of Hanoi Capital. In each of the solutions, the author focuses on clarifying the content and implementing organization. The system of solutions reflects the uniformity, feasibility and suitability with the practice of crime prevention under the functions of the local police force of the Public Security Department of Hanoi Capital in the current situation.
