Meeting to respond to World AIDS Day and launching National Action Month for HIV/AIDS prevention
Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Executive member of Central Party, Vice Minister of Public Security delivered a speech to open the Meeting.

Attending the meeting were Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Executive member of Central Party, Vice Minister of Public Security, Members of the National Committee for AIDS, Drugs and Prostitution Prevention and Control; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, Vice Minister of Health; Leadership Representative of the General Departments, Departments belong to the M.P.S; representative of mass union inside and outside the Public Security Force, the international organizations USAID and UNODC in Vietnam. As for the PPA were Members of the Party Committee, Directorate, leaders of the functional units, representatives of Women's Union, Labor Union, Youth Union and a large of the students of the Academy.

In the meeting, Major General Pham Quang Cu, Deputy Director General of General Department of Logistics and Techniques presented a summary report of the HIV/AIDS prevention of the M.P.S in 2013 and the direction of the work in 2014; and launched the program in response to the World AIDS Day and National Action Month for HIV/AIDS prevention in 2013. With the theme "Towards no new HIV infections", the National Action Month aims to change HIV infection prevention behaviors and increase access and provide HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services.

To carry out effectively the HIV/AIDS prevention in the community, for the target “no new HIV cases”, the Steering Committee of the M.P.S required every units among the Ministry of Public Security to focus on carrying out the following contents:

- Pushing up propagandizing, educating to change the behaviors and raise the awareness about preventing HIV transmission so that every police officer and students would become the energetic propagator in participation in the movement “Whole people join in HIV/AIDS prevention in the local community”.

- The units among the Ministry of Public Security in collaboration with departments, branches, social groups and civilian at all levels to actively preventing HIV/AIDS.

- The hospitals, clinics within the public security force provide services to ensure the rights to get access the HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services of all people; implement the duties of caring, advising, treating the HIV/AIDS infected cases in jails, custodies, education schools under the control of the Ministry of Public Security
