On November 18th, the PPA in
cooperation with the International PSC For Phonetics Solution and Cultural
Communication Corporation held the Opening Ceremony of further training course
on advanced teaching English methods for lecturers of the Police Training Institutions.
Attending the Opening Ceremony were Major
General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA; Senior Colonel, Dr. Can
Van Chuc, Deputy Director of the Training Department, the Ministry of Public
Security; Representatives of the International PSC For Phonetics Solution and
Cultural Communication Corporation; Representatives of Police Training Institutions;
leaders of the relevant Units inside and outside the PPA and all trainees of
the course.

establishing the course for the Board of Class Officers
This three-week training course is
organized to raise pedagogical skills for lecturers who are teaching English at
the Police Training Institutions, including: equipping, updating the latest
knowledge about teaching methods and communication; developing teaching methods
on pronunciation and basic English skills (Listening - Speaking - Reading -
Writing) for the trainees; applying class management skills to encourage participation
of the learners in each lesson; applying information technology in teaching
English. The course also equips and improves pronunciation skills,
communication skills and self-study skills to improve the proficiency in English
for the trainees.
To achieve the training objectives, 20
trainees of the course will have chance to study inside the country under the
teaching of Singaporean, American, Australian teachers, attend the
international conferences on teaching English or practice in Singapore. Completing
the course, the trainees will be awarded Certification of the University of
Cambridge of the UK.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Major General,
Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA affirmed that improving teaching
English methods were not only to meet the demand of the Public Security Force
but also the honor and the need of the individual, so the trainees should determine
to study motivation, attitude and purposes during the time attending the course;
combine theory with practice activities in each lesson to achieve the best
results; obey strictly regulations of the Ministry of Public Security, the PPA
and the course to complete the courses successfully.
