Attending the opening ceremony were Senior Lieutenant Colonel, Assoc, Prof, Dr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of Training Department, Ministry of Public Security; Colonel, Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Huong, Vice President of the PPA; trainers of the course; representatives of the functional units of PPA; Officers and lecturers of the Department of Economic Police; together with 45 officers of the Economic Police from local units.

In recent years, the crime situation in general and economic crime has evolved very complicatedly; new problems have arisen, such as objects, tricks, operation method that caused many difficulties in preventing, detecting, investigating and handling crime. In order to meet the requirements of prevention and combat against crime in general and economic crime in particular, the National Assembly has passed the Criminal Procedure Code, the Law on Organization of Criminal Investigation Agencies, the Law on Execution of temporary detention; the Law on the amendment and supplement of some articles of the 2015 Penal Code which are effective from January 1st, 2018 with many new regulations, directly related to the activities of Economic Police in the fight against economic crime.

The practice of economic crime prevention and control shows that the study of new features in the theory and practice of economic crime prevention and combat has become increasingly urgent for officers of the Economic Police.

Attending the training course, trainees will be equipped with updated legal and professional knowledge related to the field of economic crime prevention and combat, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the work, meeting the practical requirements in the new situation.

At the same time, the training course is also an opportunity for officers and of the Economic Police to exchange difficulties, problems and experiences through the reports on investigation, handling some major economic cases.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President Tran Minh Huong, required participants should maintain the good manner, strictly follow the discipline of the class. At the same time, Economic Police Department should closely coordinate with the functional units to prepare the condition for the course, promptly reporting to the Board of Directorate of PPA to direct and solve the difficulties and problems in organizing process to ensure the success of this course.
