On May 25th, 2017, the PPA successfully held the doctoral thesis defense of Postgraduate student Cao Hoang Long in English at institutional level. Senior Lieutenant General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security was Chairman of the Evaluation Board.
This is the first Evaluation Board in English of the police training institutions held by the PPA.
Attending the thesis defense were representatives from the Cambodia Embassy in Vietnam; representatives of Lao Ministry of Security in Vietnam; Office of Australian Federal Police; representatives of UNODC and foreign experts working at the PPA.

The thesis “International Cooperation on Drugs Control between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of Lao People’s Democratic Republic” has a high topicality, has both theoretical and practical rationale. The layout of thesis is logical, the data and documents are reliable and accurate. The topic has focused on researching and solving basic theoretical issues, evaluating the current situation and proposing the possible measure and solutions to enhance the effectiveness of international cooperation on drugs control between the Government of Vietnam with the Government of Cambodia and the Government of Laos.
Evaluating the thesis of Postgraduate student Cao Hong Long, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA, supervisor of the thesis said: During the process of carrying out the thesis, Postgraduate student Cao Hoang Long demonstrated the ability to independent scientific research, to receive feedback from agencies, functional units, experienced scientists inside and outside the PPA. Therefore, the thesis ensured the requirements of a PhD thesis on Social Order and Security.

At the thesis defense, after listening to Cao Hoang Long’s report on summarizing the researching results, as well as the review comments, the Secretary read the summary of the comments of the Evaluation Board.
On behalf of the Evaluation Board, Senior Lieutenant General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security passed the Resolution. He also emphasized that the thesis of Postgraduate student Cao Hoang Long was an intensive scientific research which had the theoretical and practical values in international cooperation on drugs control between the Government of Vietnam with the Government of Cambodia and the Government of Laos.
The thesis provided the possible solutions to enhance the effectiveness of international cooperation on drugs control among the three countries. The thesis of Postgraduate student Cao Hoang Long reached 7/7 votes of the members of the Evaluation Board and achieved excellent results.

Senior Lieutenant General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh requested that in the coming time, the functional units would apply the research results of the thesis to contribute to improving the efficiency of international cooperation on drugs control between the Government of Vietnam with the Government of Cambodia and the Government of Laos.
