Celebrating 49th anniversary of PPA’s establishment and 10-year foundation of Department of Armed Police

Attending the ceremony were Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Ngoc Can, Deputy Director General of General Political Department; Major General Bui Tien Cam, Deputy Commander of Mobile Police; Major General Vu Do Anh Dung, Deputy Director General of General Department of Technique - Logistics; representatives of the police training institutions and the partners of the PPA.

As for the PPA were Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, Secretary of Party Committee, President of the Academy; members of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the Academy, former leaders, senior experts, leaders of functional units of the Academy.

At the ceremony, Major General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Nhat, Vice President of the PPA stated that on May 15th, 1968, the Ministry of Public Security issued a decision on establishing a new police training institution named People's Police school (precursors of the PPA).

Over the 49 years of building and development, the PPA has trained 42 regular bachelor training courses, 25 master training courses and 21 doctor training courses with over 40,000 officers, including over 3,000 Bachelors, more than 2,500 Masters, over 300 Doctors of Law, more than 7,000 leaders, adding important human resources for People's Public Security, People's Army and other branches of internal affairs. It serves effectively the State management and the struggle to protect national security, ensure the social order. In addition, the PPA also trained more than 1,000 officers, leaders, commanders for Laos and Cambodia.


Performance of nunchaku

The PPA has been a major and prestigious scientific research center of the Public Security force, contributing to the crime prevention and fighting, building the Public Security force and developing theories of Vietnamese Police Science. The PPA has also published many valuable book sets for study, research and practical application of Public Security force in general and the People's Police in particular such as: Book set of Vietnamese Criminal Science; Book set of Vietnamese Reconnaissance Science; Book set of Vietnamese Public Security Science, etc.

Recognizing the achievements of the PPA in nearly 50 years, the Party and State has awarded the PPA with many awards and noble titles, including the First Class Independence Medal (1998), Ho Chi Minh Medal (2003), First Class War Medal (2008), the Title of the People's Armed Forces (2012), First Class National Defense Medal (2013). In 2015, the Minister of Public Security signed the Decision on recognizing the PPA as the key training institution of the Public Security force.


Performance of qigong

Along with the development of the PPA, the Department of Armed Police has gone through 10 years of building and growth. After 10 years of establishment, the Department of Armed Police has been training 10 regular bachelor courses, 6 inter-university courses and 02 in-service courses with 860 students. Specialized students are equipped with important knowledge and skills in coordinating the handling of unexpected and complex situations in order and security. Especially, on September 23rd, 2013, the PPA was approved by the Ministry of Public Security to establish the Reserve Special Force Regiment (E32) under the PPA, a combating unit of the Ministry of Public Security.

Maneuvers to celebrate the 49th anniversary of PPA’s establishment and 10-year foundation of Department of Armed Police included the following contents: Parade of Reserve Special Force Regiment (E32); martial arts performance; performance of nunchaku, qigong; specialized shooting techniques of the Armed Police; technique of driving large-displacement motorcycle; terrorism prevention and rescue hostage on the plane.

Speaking at the maneuvers, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Ngoc Can, Deputy Director General of the General Political Department acknowledged and appreciated the dynamism, initiative and creativity of the PPA and praised the excellent achievements of the generations of officers, lecturers and students of the PPA.

At the same time, he affirmed that this was an opportunity for officers, students of the PPA in general and the Department of Armed Police in particular to review the glorious tradition of the PPA, actively respond to the campaigns, the emulation movement of the Ministry of Public Security, contributing to the solidarity and unity of officers, lecturers, employees and students.
