With the consent of the Leaders of the Ministry of Public
Security and the Political General Department of the Public Security Force, in
the morning of May 07th, 2015, the PPA organized the Preliminary Conference
for 05-year training under credit system at the Academy.
Attending the Conference were Major General, Assoc.Prof.Dr.
Do Ngoc Can, Deputy Director General the Political General Department of the
Public Security Force; representatives of the police training institutions. As
for the PPA were Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of
the Academy; the members of the Directorate, officers, lecturers and students
of the Academy.

Conference
Implementing the policy of the Ministry of Education and
Training on the renewal of higher education quality, on December 4th,
2009, the Minister of Public Security issued Plan No.149/KH-BCA-X11 on the
pilot training under the credit system in higher education at the People’s
Security Academy (PSA) and the People's Police Academy (PPA). Accordingly, the PPA
began to deploy the credit system from the school year 2010-2011. Through 05
years of training, by the close attention and particular guidance of the Party
Committee, the Directorate of the Academy, some following positive results have
been achieved:
- Research, develop and promulgate the documents on training
under the credit system in accordance with the real conditions of the PPA;
- Actively foster, suitably arrange the lecturers and management
officers to serve the teaching activities;
- Prepare and meet the conditions of the facilities, classroom
systems, library, materials, data, software of supporting learning, researching
and management, etc.;
- Set up the draft curriculum for each semester, collect the
suggestions of related units before the official promulgation;
- Strongly change in awareness of the teaching units, lecturers,
students as well as the management units.

Besides the advantages and outstanding results, the process
of credit-based training system in the PPA also encountered certain
difficulties due to it was the new training methods and applied for the first
time in higher education training in Public Security Force.
At the Conference, the representatives assessed on the achieved
results through 05 years of training under credit system for students of
regular system from D36 course to D40 one; offered the directions and solutions
to improve the quality of education at the PPA in the coming time.

Speaking at the Conference, Major General, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do
Ngoc Can, Deputy Director General the Political General Department of the
Public Security Force praised the achieved results of the PPA over 05 years of
training under the credit system. He requested in the coming time, the PPA need
to build the program as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, comprehensively
develop all fields of work, build the core lecturers, enable them to
participate in researching, innovating the teaching methods to improve the quality
of education. Major General Do Ngoc Can also hoped that after the Conference at
the PPA and the PSA, the credit-based training system would be perfect to be
implemented in all police training institutions to reform basically and
comprehensively the education in the police training institutions.
