On the occasion of the anniversary, the Academy was honorably awarded the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the American Vietnam war” by the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, recognizing the successes, great contribution to the cause of national protection and building the Public Security Forces; greatly contributing to the independence and sovereignty of the nation, for the peaceful life and happiness of the people.

Also at the ceremony, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. SomVang ThamMaSit, Deputy Minister of Security of Laos, on behalf of the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, presented the Labor Medal to the PPA.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated the outstanding achievements of the Academy

Speaking at the ceremony, the Prime Minister warmly praised and congratulated the excellent achievements that the generations the People's Police Academy have achieved in 50 years.

The Prime Minister emphasized that in the new period, the task of the People’s Police was determined to be difficult due to the complex situation of the world, the region and the country. This requires the People's Police Forces to improve their politics, focus on renovating the organization and apparatus, and improve the quality of education and training to better meet the requirements and tasks of practical work.

The Prime Minister asked the Academy to renovate its curriculum, improve the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate education by enhancing the application of information technology in teaching and learning methods, in line with practical requirements, summarizing theory, referring selectively international experience on crime prevention and social management.

Towards international standards, making the Academy a model training institution, an intellectual center of Public Security and the nation, where consultations and strategic policy on the management of social order and national security for the Party and the State are initiated, including traditional and non-traditional crime.

Teachers must be good examples of virtue, level, creative thinking. It is necessary to thoroughly understand Lenin's ideas "Learn, learn more, learn forever". Students are the center of training and create the environment for students to develop their ability to learn, creative thinking.

The Academy should build a model of People’s Public Security soldier with specific qualities and capabilities that meet the requirements and tasks of the new situation. At the same time, there should be a method to test and evaluate that quality.

Prime Minister believed that: To bring into play the glorious achievements after 50 years of construction and growth and the tradition of two-time receiver of People's Armed Forces Heroes, officers, lecturers and students of the PPA will continue to unite and endeavor to make the Academy constantly develop in a powerful way and soon become a national key institution; will continue to make more great achievements, contributing together with the People's Police Forces to successfully completing the task of protecting the Party, protecting the State, protecting the people; maintaining national security and ensuring the social order and safety of the country.

At the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, expressed his deep gratitude to the attention of the Party, State and particularly the Prime Minister, for the People's Security Forces. The People's Public Security Forces promised the Party, State and Prime Minister to uphold the heroic tradition, strive for excellence in the task of national security protection, ensure the social order and security to deserve the trust of the Party, the State and the people.

On behalf of the Party Committee, Directorate of the Academy, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the Academy, would like to receive the guidance of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Security. With the motto "Renovation, activeness, discipline, responsibility, efficiency", "tradition, innovation, dynamic and development", the PPA will continue the comprehensive renovation of education and training, determine to build the Academy into a national key institution, become a modern police academy in the ASEAN region.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Public Security To Lam and delegates attended the inauguration ceremony of the cultural buildings “Heroic Tradition”.

The complex of cultural buildings "Heroic tradition" includes many landscape works such as landscape lake, clock tower, heroic monument with two stones engraved with 200 typical leaders, officers, lecturers, students of the Academy through the ages. With a large and dignified space, this will be a “red address” in the Academy’s history, educating heroic traditions for officers, lecturers and students of the Academy.
