New contributions of the thesis:

1. The thesis is the first research to systematically study about the prevention of robbery and snatching committed by drug addicts; clarify the concept of prevention of robbery and snatching committed  by drug addicts according to the function of  Criminal Police Force; the legal basis, content, measure and cooperation among related agencies in preventing robbery and snatching committed by drug addicts of Criminal Police Force of Hanoi Police Department. 

2. The thesis has analyzed the situation of prevention of robbery and snatching committed  by drug addicts according to the function of Criminal Police Force of Hanoi Police Department from 2009 to 2019 then made comments on the achievements and limitations as well the causes of the limitations in preventing this crime.

3. Base on the theoretical foundation and situation analysis, the thesis has proposed some practical solutions to prevent robbery and snatching committed by drug addicts partly contribute to improving the theory and guidance to enhance the effectiveness of this crime prevention and combatting of the Criminal Police Force of Hanoi Police Department.
