In the framework of the project "Strengthening
of capacity of training traffic police in the People's Police Academy and
police training institutions", on 3rd December, 2013, Lieutenant General,
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA received the delegation of National
Police of Japan. Attending the meeting were the Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA), representatives of the Academy Office, the Traffic Police
Department, the Research
Center for Traffic Safety
and the International Cooperation Department of the PPA.
At the meeting, the President of the PPA
expressed pleasure to welcome the delegation of National Police of Japan to
visit the PPA to celebrate in the year "40 years of Vietnam - Japan friendship"
and also expressed the PPA’s thank to the JICA and the National Police of Japan
for the assistance and support in implementation of the project "Strengthening
of capacity of training traffic police in the PPA and police training institutions”.
The results of the project have contributed significantly to improve PPA’s facilities
and capacity of training Traffic Police in the Academy in particular and in the
Ministry of Public Security in general.
The President of the PPA wishes the JICA
and the National Police of Japan will continue to support and help the PPA more
in the coming period to improve traffic safety and capacity for education and
training in traffic police in the PPA.

At the meeting, Mr. Shinichi Toyozumi,
Head of the Traffic Safety Agency, the National Police of Japan expressed his
desire to help and contribute to the maintaining order traffic safety in Vietnam.
At the end of the meeting, on behalf of
the PPA directorate, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem thanked to the
International Cooperation Agency of Japan (JICA), the delegation of National
Police of Japan, and Japanese government for their cooperation with the PPA in
recent years. Besides, the PPA also wish to continue to receive much more cooperation
and more support from the Government of Japan in the near future.
