At the meeting, the President of the PPA thanked the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam and Mr. Satoshi IWASE for the effective cooperation with the Academy in recent years. In particular, through the support of the Embassy of Japan, the PPA in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) successfully implemented the project “Strengthening traffic police training in the People’s Police Academy and other training institutions”. The project contributed to improving the training, especially training of road traffic police in the PPA. In the framework of the project, the Traffic Safety Research Center of Academy has been established and came into operation from January, 2013.

From the above-mentioned positive results, Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Yem expressed the desire to expand the cooperative relationship between the PPA and the Japanese partners, especially the National Police Agency of Japan in ensuring the traffic safety on rural area. The President of the PPA also hoped that Mr. IWASE Satoshi after the expiration of his term would continue to support and assist the PPA.

Mr. IWASE Satoshi expressed his thank for the respectful reception of the PPA and affirmed that in the extent of his responsibilities, he would continue to support and contribute to the Cause of education and training of the Academy. He said that he would discuss with JICA on the direction of cooperation in the field of traffic safety on rural area mentioned by the President of the PPA. At the same time, he also hoped that his successor would continue to promote the good cooperation relationship between the two sides in the coming time.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the PPA sent the wishes for health and happiness to Mr. IWASE Satoshi and his family; expressed the desire to meet again the representatives of National Police Agency - Embassy Japan in Vietnam at the earliest time.
