In a framework of Professional Master’s Degree Program on Criminology and Criminal Justice between the PPA and the University of Maryland, on May 10th, 2011, Director of National Consortium for Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) and lecturer of Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, University of Maryland, US, Professor Gary Lafree is at the People’s Police Academy, Ha Noi, Viet Nam to give lectures to the Program’s first cohort on CCJS600 Course, which is Criminal Justice System in the U.S.

The Department of Marine Police in coordination with the People’s Police Academy under the Ministry of Police has opened a training course on drug prevention for officials and soldiers.

Under the agreement of leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, on November 18th, 2010, the People’s Police Academy (PPA) in cooperation with the International Cooperation Department, the University of Flinder, Australia and the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held a seminar on “Modern criminal technique and science and their role in work of education and training, crime prevention”.

Implementing the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding between the People’s Police Academy (PPA), Vietnam and the University of Maryland, United States of America, under the consent of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training, the PPA on March 4th, 2011 formally held the opening ceremony of the first professional Master’s Degree Program on Justice Leadership.

As a part of framework of cooperative project with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the Switzerland Embassy in Vietnam, the UK Embassy in Vietnam on guaranteeing human rights in police work, under the consent of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, the People’s Police Academy (PPA) in cooperation with the Lang Son Police, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, between January 18th-20th, 2011 in Lang Son Province, held a workshop on “Human rights in criminal investigation”.

According to the cooperative program between the People’s Police Academy (PPA) and the Royal Thai Police Academy as well as the agreement of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, our delegation (including 9 members) headed by the Deputy Director of the PPA, Col.
