On November 21st, 2013, the
PPA held the Closing Ceremony of professional training course on management,
education and correction of prisoners for officials of the Ministry of Interior
of Cambodia.

Under the permission of the leaders of
the Ministry of Public Security, November 06th, the PPA in cooperation
with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organized the Workshop:
“Enhancing partnership between Law Enforcement Agencies and Civil Society Organizations
in the context of Drug use and HIV in Vietnam”. Senior Colonel, Dr. Tran Minh
Chat, Vice President of the PPA; Mr. Nick Thomson – Expert of the UNODC as well
as Representatives of the Ministry of Public Security and civil society
organizations involved in the field of drug and HIV prevention.

On November 4th, 2013, the PPA
formally held the Graduation Ceremony and presenting Certificate of Bachelor
Degree in Police for Laotian students of the 22nd full-time course,
school year 2007-2013. Attending the Ceremony were Senior Colonel, Dr. Tran
Minh Chat, Vice President of the PPA; Senior Colonel Kieng Kham, Representative
of the Embassy of Laos P.D.R in Vietnam and students of the course.

On October 30th, 2013, the PPA
solemnly held the closing Ceremony for professional training course on combating
economic crimes for officials of the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia. The Ceremony
was attended by Major General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA; Mrs.
Phensavny, Counselor of the Embassy of Cambodia to Vietnam and all students of
the course.

In the
context of globalization and international integration, current crime situation
in the world in general and Vietnam in particular are more complicated. The
crime’s activities are increasingly desperate and sophisticated; organized crime
gangs have appeared with the closed connection inside and outside the country,
which affects seriously the situation of social order and causes damage to
individuals and organizations, especially to law enforcement agencies.
Therefore, the expansion and strengthening of international cooperation to
improve the efficiency of the fight against crime is an indispensable
requirement in the new situation.

According to cooperative
training program between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the
Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, on October 1st, 2013, the PPA held
the opening Ceremony of further training course on preventing high-tech crime
for 20 officers of the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia.

In the framework of
cooperation between the PPA and the UK Embassy in Hanoi, on September 9th,
2013, Major General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA worked with
Mr. Bernie Crossey, experts on anti-money laundering and financial related crime
of the Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA). Attending the meeting were
representatives of the Department of Administration Management, the Faculty of Anti-Economic
Related Crime Investigation, the Faculty of Anti-drug Related Crime of the PPA.

Implementing
cooperation Agreement on training between the Ministry of Public Security of
Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos P.D.R, on September 13th,
2013, the PPA formally held the opening ceremony of police training course on anti-environmental
crime for the Ministry of Public
Security of Laos P.D.R.

On September 12th 2013, the PPA in collaboration with the Public
Security Department of Da Nang city and the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam successfully
organized the scientific seminar on “the relationship between lawyers and
investigators during the investigation” in Da Nang City.

On September 11th - 12th
2013, the PPA in cooperation with French Embassy in Vietnam and the related
units held the workshop on “Counterfeit Medicine – Threats of the world –
Prevention measures under the perspective of Police – Customs – Public Health.”

In the framework of cooperation program between the
Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia,
the PPA delegation of senior officials led by Senior Colonel, Dr. Tran Minh
Chat, Vice President of the PPA visited and worked with the Royal Police
Academy of Cambodia and the General Department of Police - the Ministry of
Interior of Cambodia.

Implementing cooperative
Agreement on training between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and
the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, on August 27th, 2013, the PPA formally
held the opening ceremony of police training course on prisoner education and
correction for the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia.

Implementing Decision No.682/QĐ-BCA-V12 of the Ministry of
Public Security, from the date of 10th to 16th, August
2013, the delegation of senior officials of the PPA led by Major General, Prof.
Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuat, Vice President of the Academy visited and worked with
some of Laos P.D.R local authorities under the invitation of Major General Xom
Suc Xim Pha Vong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee,
Vice President of Xieng Khoang Province of Laos P.D.R.

Under
cooperation Agreement on training between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam
and the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, on August 16th, 2013, the PPA formally
held the opening ceremony on economic police training course for the Ministry
of Interior of Cambodia.

With the
approval of the Ministry of Public Security, Lieutenant General. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA visited
and worked with the Institute for Criminal Justice Studies (ICJS) of the
University of Portsmouth from July 23rd, 2013 to August 6th,
2013. The University of Portsmouth currently is ranked 25 out of 250 universities of the UK and is ranked the 3rd
level in all universities specializing in training criminal justice and
criminology in the UK.
