Attending the Conference were Major General, Dr. Pham Van Cac, Deputy General Director of Police General Department, Ministry of Public Security; Major General, Prof. Dr. Ngo Sy Hien, Director of the Institute of Criminal Science, Ministry of Public Security; Senior Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Dac Hoan, Vice President the PPA and leaders of the functional units of the PPA and the Institute of Criminal Science.

On January 14^th, 2014, with the agreement of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the PPA and the Institute of Criminal Science signed a MoU in training, scientific research and equipment of technical means in the field of forensic science. After 3 years, the PPA has closely cooperated with the Institute of Criminal Science to implement the contents of the MoU, many practical co-coordinating activities have been organized and got the efficiency in all working aspects.

The Institute of Criminal Science has supported the PPA to carry out many activities to help lecturers and students access to the real work of the forensic science officers, to send the practical officers to lecture, do practical reports for the PPA’s students. At the same time, the PPA has also trained and fostered to improve the qualifications of officers of the Institute of Criminal Science; coordinated to implement the international cooperation activities in training, especially successful organization of training course on crime scene examination organized by FBI - US at the Institute of Criminal Science.

Based on the MoU, the Institute of Criminal Science has provided the PPA with a number of equipment and facilities for the education and training. In details, the Institute has supported a number of facilities serving as a model for the forensic examination and the study of traces, such as: microscope, cutting machine, electronic scale, etc.

At the Conference, Senior Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dac Hoan, Vice President of the PPA suggested that the Institute of Criminal Science continued to pay close attention to cooperate closely with the PPA in compiling textbooks and materials in the field of forensic science; create conditions for officers and lecturers of the PPA to collect information and documents for teaching and scientific research. He also requested the Institute to train students of Forensic Science Department to award Certificate of Forensic Examiner for PPA’s students after graduation; equip the technical facilities for the training and scientific research of the PPA.

Speaking at the Conference, Major General, Dr. Pham Van Cac, Deputy General Director of Police General Department appreciated the cooperation between the PPA and the Institute of Criminal Science. The Deputy General Director believed that the cooperation between the PPA and the Institute of Criminal Science would develop in depth and get the practical effects, contributing to the common development of each Agency.
