Reading Festival at the PPA was the practical activity. It created the opportunity for all officers, lecturers and students of the PPA in particular and of other police training institutions in general to approach the new publications and further strengthen the reading movement of officers and students of the police training institutions. This activity also aimed to continue to honor the value of books and reading culture, affirm the importance of books and reading, build the reading culture in the community and encourage, develop the reading passion and self-study movement among the youths of the PPA.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Lt.Gen. Bui Ba Dinh, Deputy Director General of General Political Department affirmed: the reading book was the irreplaceable mental demand of people in society; reading book was one of the key elements to improve the human personality and the reading culture was one of the important energy source to promote the intellectual standard of the people in a sustainable way. Therefore, Lt.Gen. Bui Ba Dinh called all officers, lecturers, students and especially the youths of the PPA for building the reading movement, towards the movement of learning and learning in the whole life.

“Recognizing the importance of the reading in enhancing the knowledge and especially in improving the quality and effectiveness of teaching, learning, scientific research of the officers, lecturers and students of the PPA, in recent years, the Party Committee, Directorate of PPA has often concerned and invested in building and development of the system library of the Academy”, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA confirmed at the Opening Ceremony of the Reading Festival. Accordingly, the PPA started to use the 12-floor Police Professional Library with the system of reading rooms, borrowing rooms and the function rooms which are relatively modern. By the year 2018, the PPA will strive to have 100.000 titles of documents for the studying requirement of officers, teachers and students of the Academy. Besides, the PPA also regularly organized the useful activities such as book exhibitions, galleries and the talk shows about reading culture, reading experience, etc.; thereby to raise the reading and research passions of officers, teachers and students, contribute to improve the efficiency and quality of teaching and scientific research in the PPA.

In the framework of the Festival, the officers, lecturers and students of the PPA exchanged with the famous speakers, writers such as Poet Dang Vuong Hung - the author of two works “Forever the age of 20” and “Dang Thuy Tram's Diary”, writer Pham Quang Dau - author of the novel “Don tuyen”, etc. and bought the attractive books at discounted prices from the bookstalls of the People's Public Security Publisher, National Truth Political Publishing House, Tre Publishing House, Alphabooks Company, etc. at the Police Professional Library of the PPA.
