NEW CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE THESIS

1. The thesis is the first scientific work which comprehensively and systematically studies the prevention of trading in banned goods crime on the Northeast mainland border route based on the functions of the Economic Police force.

2. The thesis builds, supplements, and contributes to the development of theories on the prevention of trading in banned goods crime on the mainland border route based on the functions of the Economic Police force including the concept of trading in banned goods crime, mainland border route, concept and characteristics of the prevention of trading in banned goods crime on the mainland border route.

3. The thesis summarizes the reality of the prevention of trading in banned goods crime on the Northeast mainland border route based on the functions of the Economic Police force of Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Lang Son, and Quang Ninh province from 2010 to the end of June 2021. In addition, the thesis highlights the achievements, states different shortcomings and limitations as well as points out a number of causes.

4. The thesis provides forecasts and a system of seven scientific and feasible solutions in order to improve the effectiveness of the prevention of trading in banned goods crime on the Northeast mainland border route based on the functions of the Economic Police force in the coming time.
