New contributions of the thesis:

1. The thesis is a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth research on prevention of rape of a person under 16 years old according to the function of Criminal Police force including specific contents such as: Concepts and legal signs of rape of a person under 16; characteristics, contents and methods of preventing rape of a person under 16 according to the function of Criminal Police force. The knowledge contributes to supplement and fulfill the theoretical system of criminology and crime prevention in Vietnam.

2. The thesis has analyzed and clarified the situation and activities to prevent rape of a person under 16 years old from 2009 to 6/2020 in Vietnam according to the function of Criminal Police force.

Thereby, the thesis has analyzed and identified advantages as well as shortcomings, limitations and causes in prevention of rape of a person under 16 according to the function of of Criminal Police force.

3. On the basis of theoretical perception, survey and analysis of the current situation as well as determining the factors affecting to prevention of rape of a person under 16 according to the function of Criminal Police force, the thesis has proposed and recommended a system of solutions to improve the effectiveness of this crime prevention in the coming time.
