New contributions of the thesis:

1. The thesis has systemized the theory, plotted the practical cooperation activities between the Border Guard Force of Vietnam and the Security Officials of Laos against drug - related crime since 2005;

2. The thesis has also distinguished theoretically the distinctive features of new international cooperation applied by the Border Guard Force of Vietnam in the attempt to fight effectively against the drug penetration through the Vietnam - Laos border, particularly: the intelligence cooperation; the cooperation in a particular case; the cooperation of solving the complicated developments of drug crimes in the border zones, etc. Discover and point out the political and social bases of the cooperation, which are very important, applied creatively by the Border Guard Force to build and strengthen the collaboration between the Border Guard Force of Vietnam and the Security Official of Laos against drug - related crime; at the first time, the thesis has formed the theoretical system of “fighting against drug - related crime afar” which has been studied and developed recently worldwide and nationwide.

3. Evaluate the weaknesses of the cooperation between the Border Guard Force of Vietnam and the Security Officials of Laos against drug - related crimes in terms of: legal regulations, reconnaissance skills, intelligence skills, military tactics.

4. The thesis has recently predicted the situation of the drug - related crime in the Vietnam - Laos border; it has also built the system of comprehensive solutions which suits to the functions and missions and personnel, organizations of the Border Guard Force in order to improve the effectiveness of the struggle against the penetration of drug through the Vietnam - Laos border.
