On May 28th, at headquarter
of the PPA, Lieutenant General, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the Academy
had the meeting with the delegation of Executive Board of International Law
Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Thailand led by Mr. Federik Stolper, Acting President
of the ILEA. Participating the ILEA’s delegation were General Monthon
Ngernwattana, Royal Thai Police; Mr. Thomas W.Eckert, Security Attaché of the
United States Embassy and Mr. Tomas A.Mandl, official of Political Section of
U.S. Embassy in Vietnam.
At the meeting, the delegation of Executive
Board of ILEA in Thailand was introduced the history and development of the PPA
from early establishment so far and the activities of training, teaching and
scientific research of the Academy in recent years as well as the prospects for
international cooperation in the future. Also during the meeting, the President
of the PPA Lieutenant General, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem expressed his wish to
receive continuously the assistance and co-operation of the ILEA in education
and training.

Responding to the President of the PPA,
Mr. Federik Stolper, Acting President of ILEA stressed that Vietnam had always
been the priority country of the ILEA in training cooperation and enhancing
capacity of crime prevention and suppression. He hoped the PPA would make the
specific requests as the basis to achieve the effective cooperation in the
future.
In the current situation, a lot of
emerged forms of crime which are sophisticated and complex have occurred, especially
high tech crime, financial crime, terrorist crime, etc. Therefore, the President
of the PPA expected that the ILEA could support the Public Security force of
Vietnam and the PPA in fighting against these crimes. Moreover, Lieutenant
General Nguyen Xuan Yem also hoped that the U.S. Embassy as well as the ILEA could
arrange programs for the officials from the ILEA to make the reality reports for
the lecturers and students of the PPA in the future.

Mr. Stolper Federik highly agreed to the
proposals of the PPA and confirmed that the ILEA would support strenuously to
the Academy in improving capacity for officials in the field of training. At
the same time, Mr. Federik Stolper wished that the cooperation between the two Academies
would be increasingly developed and got more new advances in the near future.
