On March 27th, Senior Colonel, Assoc.Prof.Dr.
Tran Minh Chat, Vice President of the PPA received the delegation of the
Embassy of the United States in Vietnam led by Mr. Kevin Schwartz, Asia Representative
- Department of Law Enforcement and Drug - Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Joining
the meeting also were leaders and officials of Division of International
Cooperation - the PPA.
At the Meeting, the Vice President of the PPA expressed the
gratitude to the U.S. Embassy for their support to the PPA in recent years,
especially in scientific research and training capacity for officials and lecturers
of the Academy. The Vice President of the Academy believed that the cooperation
relationship between the two sides would be better and become more development
in the future. The PPA hoped that the U.S. Embassy would support continuously to
the Academy in organizing more training sessions, seminars and selecting
officials of the PPA to study in the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA)
and participate in compiling the Criminal Justice textbook in English, etc.
The
delegation of the Embassy of the United States at the Meeting
On behalf of the delegation from the U.S. Embassy, Mr.
Kevin Schwartz thanked the PPA for their cooperation during the previous time.
He confirmed that the cooperation between the two sides would be further
development certainly. With experience in police training and crime prevention,
the United States would support and assist to the PPA to improve the police training
capacity in the coming time. Initially, the U.S. Embassy would send the experienced
experts in the crime prevention and suppression, such as drug crimes, human
trafficking, money laundering, etc. to the Academy to share their experiences.
At the end of the Meeting, on behalf of the Board of
Directors of the PPA, the Vice President of the Academy sincerely thanked to
the U.S. Embassy once again and hoped that the relationship between the two sides
would increasingly develop.
