As a part of the "Building Electronic Library in the PPA" project, funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), from 6th to September 19th, 2015 in Korea. The PPA’s delegation, led by Mr. Major General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang – Vice President of the PPA attended the second-stage training courses with the content: "information technology (IT) application into managing the Electronic Library system ".
The training cause took place in two weeks at the Bucheon University, Korea. During the studying process and cultural exchange, the PPA’s delegation were exchanged by leading professors in the field of Information Technology about the experience of operational design and optimal use of the solution to building an Electronic Library through special subjects, such as: The necessity of strengthening the police’s administrative capacity relating to Information Technology and Communications; The development and organization of electronic books in the library; The security and hacking strategies; The operational management of IT equipment in an electronic library; The strategy in network security threats...
Besides the working time, the PPA’s delegation were arranged by KOICA to visit some typical libraries of Korea, such as: the Mong Dang Library of Bucheon University, the Korean National Library, the Korean Assembly Library, the Bucheon University Library.Where the PPA’s delegation were given the warm welcome as well as specific, detailed introduction into models of advanced Electronic Libraries and exchanged organizational experiences of an Electronic Library.
During this trip, the PPA’s delegation visited some famous places in Korea, such as: Gyeongbok Palace, Seoul N Tower, History Museum of Seodaemun Prison, Independence Hall, Iron and Steel Company of Pohang – POSCO, Car Companies, Heavy industry of Huyndai Corporation...
The training course for the PPA’s officers has gained the great achievements and made a deep impression on the friendship of cooperation relationship between the PPA and the Korea International Cooperation Agency in particular as well as Vietnam and Korea in general. This trip has opened up a new vision for the PPA’s delegation members, especially in the application of IT achievements into the development of libraries, providing the basis and prerequisite for the successful implementation of "Building Electronic Library in the PPA" project.
