New contribution of the thesis:

1. The thesis is the first independent, meticulous study on economic crime prevention in credit activities of commercial banks. The thesis has created a system of concepts of conscious theory of economic crime prevention in credit activities of commercial banks based on function of economic police. Especially, the thesis has selectively absorbed knowledge stated in scientific works to provide the concepts of “Economic Crime” and “Economic crime prevention in credit activities of commercial banks”, adding to the theory system of crime prevention.

2. The thesis surveys, evaluates the situation of economic crime prevention in credit activities of commercial banks based on function of economic police, drawing science-based conclusions on cause, condition of creation and development of crime, while indicating shortcomings, limits and their causes in prevention of this crime of economic police.

3. On the basis of research of economic – social conditions in Vietnam and the world, factors affecting the formation and development of crime in the future, the thesis has provided science-based forecast on development of economic crime prevention in credit activities of commercial banks in the coming time.

4. The thesis suggests basic solutions to economic crime prevention in credit activities of commercial banks based on function of economic police that are scientific and feasible. If they are applied in practice, they will bring high effectiveness.

Research results of the thesis are of scientific significance and can  be used in researching, teaching, compiling documents, curriculum and learning in people’s police schools.
