New contributions of the thesis:

1. The thesis is the first scientific work to systematically and comprehensively study the reconnaissance project to fight against crime of illegal armed transporting, trading in narcotic substances across border. Therefore, the new perspectives and arguments of the thesis contribute to improving the quality of reconnaissance projects to fight against illegal armed transporting, trading in narcotic substances across border.

2. The thesis has analyzed and clarified the basic theoretical issues about reconnaissance project to against crimes of illegal armed transporting, trading in narcotic substances across border. The problems presented in the thesis have a theoretical basis and close to reality.

3. The thesis has surveyed, analyzed and evaluates the characteristics of the situation relating to illegal armed transport and trading narcotics across the border in the northwest region; analyzed and assessed the current situation of organization and conducting the reconnaissance projects to fight against crimes of illegal armed transporting, trading narcotics across borders of the Anti-Drug Police force, including the contents: force assignment; reality of setting up reconnaissance project; reality of conducting reconnaissance project; reality of leadership, coordination, international cooperation in reconnaissance projects.

4. The thesis has made forecasts and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of reconnaissance projects to fight against illegal armed transportation and trade of drugs across Vietnam - Laos border in the northwest. These solutions have theoretical and practical basis, derived from research results and been highly feasible.
