New contributions of the thesis:
1. The thesis studies and clarifies many Vietnamese and oversea researches on preventing crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person committed by prisoners in prisons. The thesis also analyses relevant legal regulations, clarifies basic theory of preventing crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person committed by prisoners in prisons by Prison Management Police. In addition, the thesis provides a theoretical system, including the concept, the position and the meaning of preventing crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person committed by prisoners in prisons; the legal framework, content, methods, subjects, cooperation in preventing crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person committed by prisoners in prisons.

2. The thesis offers some research results on relevant situation, such as: Characteristics and models of managing, detaining and educating prisoners in prisons; the situation of offender's execution of the sentence; characteristics of prisoners committing crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person over the period from 2010 to 2018; causes of crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person committed by prisoners and the reality of preventing this crime. Moreover, the thesis points out both advantages and shortcomings in preventing prisoners from committing crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person by Prison Management Police and clarifies the causes of those shortcomings.

3. On the basis of theory and reality of preventing crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person committed by prisoners in prisons, the thesis provides scientific forecasts and a number of measures to improve the efficiency of preventing crime of deliberate infliction of bodily harm upon another person committed by prisoners in prisons of Ministry of Public Security.
