International Cooperation Division was established in accordance with Decision No. 5592 / QD-BCA dated 9th October 2013 by the Minister of Public Security. The Division works to advise and assist the President of the Academy in carrying out the foreign relations and international cooperation at the People's Police Academy in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security.

Centre for Title and Teacher Fostering was established under Decision No. 6124/QD-X11-X14 of the General Political Department of Public Security on June 7th 2016. Up to now, the total number of officers and soldiers is: 14 comrades; Structure: 04 leaders, 08 officers, 02 specialists.

In 1975, the People's Police Academy named the People's Police School, was assigned the task of training graduated police officers by the Government and Ministry of Public Security.

In 1981, The PPA officially launched its training program on non-regular course (formerly called In-service training). Up to now, the PPA has organized 43 courses at school and 150 courses linked with local units with more than 29.279 students, of whom more than 18.000 have graduated.

The People's Police Academy is amulti disciplinary institution; responsible for training and retraining cadres with graduate, master and doctoral degrees; Fostering the titles and profession for cadres, leaders and commanders of the people's police force and the Ministry of Public Security; Fostering teachers for the People's Police schools; Participating in defense education and security; Carrying out foreign affairs and international cooperation on education and training under the Minister's plan; PPA is the scientific research center of the People's Police Force, playing a pivotal role in the development of the People's Police Schools.

Following the decision of the leader of the Ministry of Public Security, the delegation of the PPA led by Senior Colonel, Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Huong, Vice President of the Academy attended the International Police Executive Symposium (IPES) in Liverpool, UK from August 06th - 11th, 2017.

August 12th, 2017, the PPA delegation visited and assisted the people of
Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province and Muong La district, Son La
province to overcome the consequences after the disaster.
