On December 16th, 2016,
the PPA held a meeting on the occasion of 70th National Resistance Day (December
19th, 1946 - December 19th, 2016) and 72th founding
anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22nd, 1944 - December
22nd, 2016).

On
December 13th, 2016, the PPA held a workshop: "Organization of
temporary custody and detention management, enforcement under law on temporary
custody, detention enforcement in 2015". Major General, Prof.Dr. Ho
TrongNgu, Vice President of PPA hosted the workshop.

673 traffic accidents of inland waterways; 448 dead or
missingpeople; 81 injured people; 683 sunk waterway vessels, the total of losses
were estimated at up to 510 billion VND - that is the alarming number of inland
waterway transport accidents in Vietnam for 5 years (2011- 6/2016) as reported
by Ph.D Khuat Viet Hung, the National Committee for Traffic Safetyat the
scientific conference "Ensuring traffic safety on inland waterways"
held on November 16th, 2016 at PPA.

On November
18th 2016, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh - Member of the Political Bureau, Permanent
Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
attended a ceremony to celebrate Vietnam Teacher's Day at PPA.

On November 14, 2016, the People's Police Academy held a solemn ceremony to
start the 21st fellow course and award PhD degree in 2016. The Major
General, Assoc. Prof. Dr Do Ngoc Can - Deputy General Director of the General
Political Department of the People’s Police spoke to lead the ceremony.

On November 14th,
2016, in PPA, the General Political Department of People’s Police held a
ceremony to announce the Minister of Police’s decision of appointing the
Colonel, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dac Hoan, Deputy Director of the Police Science
Institute as Vice President of the Academy.

On December 2nd, 2016, PPA held a conference to
summarize 25 years of postgraduate training (1992-2017). Lieutenant General, Assoc.Prof.Dr.
Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Minister of
Public Securityattended and directed at the Conference.

On November 4th 2016, PPA held a
solemn celebration of 20 years since the establishment of the Criminal
Enforcement and Justice Assistance Police Faculty and a Scientific Conference on
improving training quality of Criminal Enforcement and Justice Assistance
Police Force in the current situation.

On November 11th, 2016, the PPA and the University
of Maryland, USA held the Closing ceremony and presented Master’s Degree to 30
students of the 2nd cohort of the Joint Master’s Degree in Justice
Leadership.

On October 26th, 2016, the PPA held the
Opening Ceremony for the 1st ASEAN Workshop for English Teachers of
Police Training Institutions to discuss on building ESP courses for police
officers by sharing successes and challenges.

On October 6th 2016, in HCM City, PPA in
cooperation with the General Police Department of Criminal Enforcement and
Judicial Assistance, the Ministry of Public Security held a scientific
conference entitled "Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Assistance -
theoretical and practical issues".

People's Public Security held a ceremony to announce decision of the Minister
of Public Security to appoint the Major General, Prof. Dr. Ho Trong Ngu to
be Vice President of of PPA.

October 17th, 2016, the PPA held solemnly the Opening Ceremony of
the academic year 2016 - 2017. Attending the Ceremony were H.E. Senior Lieutenant
General, Prof. Dr. To Lam - Member of Politburo of the Communist Party of
Vietnam, Secretary of Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of
Public Security; representatives of the General Departments, Departments and
Institutions of the Ministry of Public Security; elder teachers and
distinguished domestic and international guests.

In order to fully grasp and implement the Resolution of 12th National Party Congress on ensuring national defense and security, prevention and fighting against crimes, social order and safety assurance, on Sept 15th, 2016, the PPA held a Conference on "prevention of crime, social order and safety assurance in the light of the Resolution of 12th National Party Congress".

Sept 29th, 2016, the PPA in cooperation with the Reasoning
Subcommittee on social security and order, the Ministry of Public Security’s Council
of Theory held a scientific conference on "Prevention, investigation of
drug-related crime in the new situation".
